A Picnic
>> Wednesday, May 26, 2010
During the summer, we eat most of our meals outside until it gets so hot we cannot stand to be outdoors. I picked up a little picnic table for the boys today. We got home, set up their pool, and I set out to assemble the table.
They decided to help. By help I mean take the pieces and submerge them in the pool. Not so helpful. I was able to get it done in time for lunch. I think they like it.

Briceman

A few funny moments lately:
1. I was getting onto Brice the other day and laying on the guilt trip as we were driving down the road. While looking out the window, he waves at two bicyclists and says, "so long suckas!" Lecture over, mom is laughing too hard to continue.
2. He gives a high five then says, "who's your momma?"
3. After completing a task we have to sing, "Oh yeah, uh huh, that's right, oh yeah" while dancing. This can be embarrassing when he decides to celebrate because I picked out the crackers he wanted at the store. People stare, but we break it down anyway.
Oh Brice, we have no idea where he gets it.

Mother's Day

I had an excellent weekend and the card the boys gave me had a sticker inside. It said, 1 in a 1,000,000 mom. I wore it proudly.
A Busy Week
>> Friday, May 7, 2010
We have spring fever and we're on the move. The boys and I had a busy week. We could not sit still. We played in the yard as always. Yesterday it was 90 degrees so we broke out the sprinkler and garden hose to cool off. Tuesday we drove to Grove, OK and went to Har-Ber Village on the lake. Brice enjoyed seeing all the tractors and buggies. Rogan had a run in with the wall. The wall won and left a notch on his forehead. Today, we drove over to Springdale, AR and went to an arts and crafts show and basically wasted the day away. It was a good week.
Hey Momma!
>> Monday, May 3, 2010
Yep, he finally started calling me Momma. Do not worry, he still calls me Boss. Momma has taken over this last week though. Oh and since it is Brice it's not your normal Momma it's more like Maaaawwwmuh, said with a long southern drawl. I have no idea where it gets this stuff but you gotta love it!
The Enemy
I'm turning into Carl Spackler from Caddyshack. We have a woman who is letting her dog poop in our front yard every morning. She has her dog on a leash but one of those retractable leashes and he is able to go out about 25 feet and still be on a leash. He sniffs the front of our house, hikes his leg on our landscaping and takes a big ol' poop in our front yard. I've decided I have to catch her. It is becoming a problem. Every week there are now several piles of poop in our yard up near the house and front door. So, I'm channeling Carl. If you are not a Caddyshack fan, we can't be friends. One of Carl's most memorable quotes:
"License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote."So I am thinking about getting decked out in my camo gear. I'm going to catch her and her dog in the act and I'm going to say something. Something like, "please stop letting your dog defecate in my front yard." I kicked around the idea of assembling a poo package and delivering it to her, but thought that may not be the best way to promote neighborliness. So I wait and I watch. Read more...
Happy Birthday To You!
>> Saturday, May 1, 2010
It's Grandma Jan's birthday today!
We wanted to post a picture of the boys together for your birthday, but we cannot create miracles. Getting them to cooperate for a picture alone is a challenge in itself. You take what you can get.
