Boss

My son with his three year old wisdom has taken to calling me Boss. Mom, Mommy, Momma...nope Boss. Brice doesn't say a lot and he doesn't call his grandparents by anything special yet. He does call Brian "Daddy" and his brother "Rogan". Of course, the dogs are "Maggie" and "Fisher". I have only been referred to as "Momma" when he was in the hospital after his seizure and one time when he was sick. Other than that, he hasn't really referred to me as anything until recently when he settled on "Boss". He has heard his dad come home every night and greet me with, "Hey Boss, how was your day?" I guess he figured that must be my name.

He was eating his lunch today while saying, "Hey Boss, yum" and "Hey Boss, drink". I guess some mother's hearts would break when referred to as Boss by their three year old instead of something more endearing like Mommy. Nah, not me, I wouldn't expect much else coming from my Brice. Sounds about right to me. So, now I'm Boss.

Snow

The spring snow storm blew through yesterday and covered us with about 6-7 inches of snow. It was pretty to watch from the warm house. The snow fell in huge flakes and covered everything up in no time at all. Brian took a snow day and stayed home with us yesterday. We spent most of the day in our flannel pants and sweatshirts cuddled up on the living room floor playing with the kids and watching movies. It was great. During Rogan's afternoon nap we took Brice outside and let him play in the snow. He was soaked in no time. He and Brian attempted to build a snowman but Brice got cold and decided to come inside. Brian tried to finish it up for him, but it fell over. The snow was just too heavy and wet. It was a completely unproductive and perfect day.

Unfortunately, Brian had to work all day Saturday and most of the day on Sunday. We did however manage to squeeze in some outdoor fun when he got home Sunday afternoon. We took the kids to our neighborhood playground and fed the ducks at the pond. You'll probably notice a hot dog bun in Brice's pocket while he's playing on the playground. He refuses to feed the bread to the ducks, he prefers to eat it. We went to the playground first and he was eating the bun on the way there and didn't want to take a chance the ducks would end up with his bread so he put it in his pocket for safekeeping while he played.

OKC Zoo Again

Brian and I took the boys back to the OKC zoo yesterday. An exhibit called "Dinosaurs Unearthed" began on March 13th and we were pretty sure Brice would love it. It was a great display, it wasn't very large, but it was fun. The dinosaurs were animatronic. The kids could push buttons to make their tails and heads move and make them roar. The display included a life size T-Rex and Triceratops. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad we decided to go. The display lasts until June 30th and is free with your zoo admission so we may go back again! Brice picked out a backpack full of dinosaurs and wore it the rest of the day and Rogan got a T-Rex which he chewed on the rest of the day.

8 Months Old

Rogan is 8 months old. He's so much fun. He laughs all the time and loves to watch his big brother play. He is sitting up, pushing himself into a sitting position, crawling and babbling. He is also able to sit and eat in his high chair and feed himself finger foods and hold his own bottle. Now that everyone is on the move, my life has become much busier. I dressed the boys in their football jerseys today and tried to get a few photos. Brice is starting to pay more attention to his brother now that he is able to sit up in the bath tub with him and move around on the floor. I got a few photos, but it was no easy task.

OKC Zoo

Today, the boys and I drove to Oklahoma City to meet my parents and spent the day at the zoo. The weather was perfect and the zoo wasn't really too crowded. We had a great time and the boys are completely worn out. Brice was so tired he even stopped to rest while playing on the playground before we left. It was a successful trip!

Lunch

Today, during lunch I decided to feed Rogan in the highchair for the first time. I have been feeding him in his Bumbo seat, but he has outgrown it. He seemed so big sitting in the highchair. I also took notice of how much taller Brice is. I hadn't noticed that his feet now reach the bottom rung of our chairs in the kitchen. When did that happen? They are growing too fast, I'm with them everyday and I can't even keep up.

TASM

I took the boys to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum yesterday. It was disappointing that they have taken away all of their kid friendly stations and replaced them with stations for older kids. There was very little for Brice to do. I think they may rotate the stations around and perhaps we happened to visit when they were set up for older children. He did have fun playing in the cockpit of the old airplane and on the playground. I think we may call ahead next time and see if they have changed the exhibits around.
